The history of the world's most popular skate shoe brand began in 1966 in Anaheim, a Californian city where the first Vans store produced custom shoes made on the same day. Since that year, the Van Doren Rubber Company of brothers Paul and James Van Doren has come a long way, during which it has experienced a success that still continues to this day. The brand made its debut on the market with the Vans Authentic, with a low silhouette and a wide range of color options, elements that, together with the ever-present design, have allowed this model to be one of the best-selling models ever. It was with the Era, designed by professional skaters Tony Alva and Stacy Petralta, that the iconic Off The Wall logo and the characteristic vulcanized waffle sole, designed to be non-slip and abrasion-resistant, made their appearance, while the Old School model inaugurated the unmistakable "jazz stripe", the lateral wave on the upper. The Vans Sk8-Hi introduces a model with a different aesthetic to the catalog, being high and able to wrap the ankles against abrasions and impacts. The uniqueness of the Vans shapes has allowed it to meet brands such as Supreme, Huf and Bape, with innovative collaborations, but faithful to the skate identity.
